Social Security Schedule: When July 2022 Benefits Will Be Sent

Early July is when the following round of Social Security payments are expected to be distributed.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) climbed by 1.0 percent in May, while over the previous 12 months, the index for all items increased by 8.6 percent.

The Social Security cost-of-living adjustment for 2022 has increased to 5.9 percent, the highest level in almost 40 years due to rising inflation.

For Social Security beneficiaries, this rise became effective on January 1; for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients, it became effective on December 30.

Your money is given out on Wednesday, July 13, if your birthday falls between the first and tenth of the month.

Your payment will be given out on Wednesday, July 20, if your birthday falls between July 11 and July 20.

If Social Security is insufficient to meet your basic living costs, you might also be eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

You will get both your Social Security and Supplemental Security Income payments on July 1 if you began receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997 or if you now receive both.
