Thousands of families have been given extra time to claim the £150 grant.
You get one payment per family and you don’t have to pay Pennies Back.
In Northumberland, about 109,000 of the 126,000 households eligible for the exemption have been paid so far.
But the county council has extended the deadline for applications to July 15 for the remaining 17,000 families to receive the cash.
Villagers are being appealed to apply at the earliest.
How do you apply?
Each council is operating the scheme in different ways.
Regardless of your area you will need to live in a House who falls under bands A – D to be eligible to claim exemption.

Payments began to be sent in April.
If you are eligible but do not make your payment Council tax By direct debit, your local council should contact you with details on how to claim your exemption.

In Northumberland, the council has sent letters to families where the council has no direct debit details, asking people to provide their details via a computer link in a letter.
This has to be done by the July 15 deadline.
Residents have been told if they have not yet received a letter to expect one in the “coming weeks”.
Residents will need a Property The reference and council tax account number shown at the top of the letter to apply.
